Afro Cuban Sessions
Afro Cuban Sessions are ongoing group classes designed
to give the participants a well rounded knowledge of the
Afro Cuban traditions. The ethnicities covered are
Arara, Bantu, Yuroba, Crillio, and other lesser known
traditions. Each voicing is covered in complete detail in the
most proficient way to play as dictated by the culture. The
cultural context and usage will be covered so the participants
know what and why they are playing any particular rhythm.
Mostly Havana and Matanzas styles are taught but some
Santiago versions are taught as well....
++Bata drumming is available only by request and only in
groups no greater than three. Private tutoring is available.
